Suozzi Announces Tele-Town Hall “Tour” Across NYS

To hold seven town halls covering every region of NYS

Glen Cove, NY – Congressman Tom Suozzi, Democratic candidate for Governor of New York, today announced that he will launch a series of tele-town halls across the state beginning Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Suozzi will hold a total of seven tele-town halls over the next ten weeks. Democratic voters in every region of the state will be invited to participate.

“I like going directly to the people to hear about the issues they care about and the problems they want me to help try and solve,” said Suozzi. “I have held town halls at every step of my career in public service and I get more information about what people really think than from any other source.”

From 2016 until the shutdowns due to COVID, Suozzi held over 50 in-person town halls that drew as many as 400 residents at each. He was known for staying hours until every person had their question or issue addressed. In addition, as a member of Congress, he has held eight tele-town halls, including at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, which garnered over 20k participants.

“When you are able to hear directly from residents, you quickly learn that what they truly care most about is often night and day from what you might read on social media,” continued Suozzi. “Hearing what people want you to focus on demonstrates what can be done to help people.”
